Nationwide partners with Teledyne FLIR and PrevTech to boost electrical risk inspection and monitoring capabilities

Partnerships

The partnership will provide Nationwide’s customers access to Teledyne FLIR’s thermal imaging cameras and PrevTech’s electrical risk management software.

Thermal imaging cameras can detect invisible heat signatures to the naked eye, making them ideal for detecting electrical hazards such as hot spots, arcing, and loose connections. PrevTech’s software can combine thermal imaging data with other information, such as weather data and asset records, to identify and prioritize electrical risks.

The partnership will help Nationwide’s customers to proactively protect their electrical systems from fires, outages, and other costly damage. Farms and commercial agribusinesses are particularly vulnerable to electrical fires, as they often have large, complex electrical systems essential to support critical operations and processes.

“We are committed to helping our customers protect their property from electrical risks,” said John Smith, a senior vice president at Nationwide. “This partnership with Teledyne FLIR and PrevTech will give our customers access to the most advanced electrical risk inspection and monitoring technologies available.”

The partnership is expected to be fully implemented by the end of 2023.

In addition to the benefits mentioned, the partnership could also help Nationwide improve its customer service by providing customers with more timely and accurate information about the electrical risks to their property. This could lead to increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The partnership also shows the growing importance of electrical risk management in the insurance industry. As the cost of electrical fires and outages continues to rise, insurers are increasingly looking for ways to help their customers mitigate these risks. The partnership between Nationwide, Teledyne FLIR, and PrevTech is a significant step in this direction.
