Blink Parametric and MAWDY partner to revolutionise travel insurance

Plane landing in London

This partnership will initially focus on providing flight disruption coverage to MAWDY Ireland’s travel insurance customers.

Under the new offering, MAWDY Ireland policyholders will be eligible for real-time access to 1,300+ executive airport lounges worldwide or a cash payout alternative when their flight is delayed by more than three hours. This coverage will be available for single-trip and annual multi-trip travel insurance customers.

Blink Parametric’s real-time technology monitors flight data and automatically alerts policyholders of disruptions. Once notified, policyholders can receive lounge access or a cash payout, depending on their policy terms. This streamlined process aims to help alleviate the stress and consequences of flight disruptions.

“This partnership marks a landmark expansion for Blink Parametric,” said Sid Mouncey, CEO of Blink Parametric. “Partnering with MAWDY Ireland is an important first step, and we are delighted that our flight disruption solution will now be offered as standard on Gold and Platinum products for an ever-increasing number of MAWDY Ireland’s travel insurance customer base.”

Declan Murphy, head of commercial at MAWDY Ireland, emphasised the importance of providing genuine added value to customers.

“Incorporating Blink Parametric real-time flight delay services initially into our direct-to-consumer service offering is just the latest step in our overall innovation and digitalisation strategy,” he said. “We will continue to work with Blink Parametric to embed additional real-time assistance services into our products and partner brands over the next 12 months.”

This partnership reflects a growing demand for real-time travel insurance solutions that immediately assist affected travellers. By leveraging Blink Parametric’s innovative technology, MAWDY is enhancing its travel insurance offerings and demonstrating its commitment to customer-centric innovation.
