Tokio Marine HCC International restructures IT and operations to support continued growth

new job 5 - promotion

The insurer has experienced significant growth since 2017 and aims to simplify its IT and operations structure to enhance its strategic position within the organisation.

As part of the restructuring, Des Burke, the chief information officer at TMHCCI, has been promoted to group chief operations officer. Burke will oversee architecture, technology, data, procurement, business transformation, enterprise change, claims, and underwriting operations. He will report directly to Barry Cook, chairman & CEO of TMHCCI, and will join the TMHCCI Board.

Nicki Tang, head of technology shared services, has been promoted to chief information officer. Tang joined TMHCCI in 2019 and brings two decades of experience in similar roles across different sectors, focusing on Business Intelligence.

David Fletcher has been promoted to chief analytics and innovation officer, expanding his current responsibilities. Nick Scully, head of procurement, will take on additional accountability for workplace management (property and facilities) and travel, reporting to Des Burke.

The restructuring is intended to provide TMHCCI with the necessary components to support its continued growth under one unified structure and leadership. The organisation recognises the importance of technology and data in its future growth and believes that this approach elevates the strategic importance of IT, data, and operations.

Barry Cook expressed satisfaction with the restructuring, stating that it is a positive step for the organisation and that he is confident in the new team’s abilities to “drive future expansion and profitability.”
